Last month we were exhibitors at the Saint Louis Travel Show. It was our first public marketing event. It was also the first year for the show, which was held at the St. Charles Convention Center in St. Charles, MO (I know, I know, not exactly Saint Louis, but close enough!)
We were told that the attendance was over 5,000 for Saturday. I think it was less on Sunday. But overall a very decent crowd to see almost 200 exhibitors! Our neighbors on the floor included the cool folks from the Saint Louis Science Center and Gary from Jim Trenary Chevrolet (nice guy - buy a car from him!) Across the aisle was Alan from Green County CVB in Ohio and the very classy crew from Isle of Capri Casino and Hotel (with gorgeous tropical flowers on their table!) We also ran into some people we knew (Sarah from Cape Girardeau CVB and Melanie from Brinks Home Security.) And we made lots of new friends too.
Branson MO was well represented, with shows on the stage to booths for several shows and attractions. There were workshops and cooking demonstrations too. I even presented a workshop to a small crowd but enjoyed demonstrating our site to the few that were in attendance.
We are probably most grateful to have met Michael Daehn, The Marketing Guy, who suggested we start this blog and gave us several pointers to enhance our SEO.
It was good for us to present our site face to face with the traveling public, even the seniors who don't even own a computer! You keep things real for us!
What would bring you to a Travel Show?
